To anyone unfamiliar, an Idol Festival is an event where group/solo idols can perform on stage for a certain permitted amount of time to sing, dance, and interact with the audience. Most commonly idol festivals showcase cosplay idols, k-pop/j-pop Cover groups, and Kaigai (or overseas) idols. Idol festivals have become a popular staple at many major conventions, including Katsucon and Otakon.

Continuing its tradition Sora! Id☆l Festival is meant to be a concert experience for UMW students, by UMW students. SIF is meant to celebrate aspiring idols and establish performers throughout the DMV region and even beyond. Everyone is invited to enjoy the show as a variety of idols take the stage to share their passions and feelings with the audience.
